Student Account Specialist
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
DEPARTMENT: Business Office

General Function:
This position is responsible for the overall
direction, vision, and leadership of student
accounts including the primary responsibility to maintain accurate and timely records on student-related charges and payments. This
position will report directly to the Chief
Financial Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive and account for student receivables, generate student bills, manage student
collections, generate student billing reports and maintain accurate student accounts
Maintain rates, codes and tables in student billing software. Coordinate with student
housing, student records and student financial aid to obtain accurate assessments for student billing. Communicate with students and
parents through the use of the telephone,
e-mail, and text messages. Responsible for
reconciling the student accounts database with the general ledger and assists with other
reconciliation processes. Reconciles selected bank statements. Capable of meeting
established goals and deadlines. Assist in year-end preparation of audit reports. Provide other general office support work as needed.
Manage copy machine and postage machine service, usage and supplies. Serve on standing committees as assigned by the Academic Dean
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma is required; Bachelor's
degree is preferred. However, consideration will be given to those candidates with an equivalent combination of education,
experience, and training. Experience in accounting/bookkeeping as well as
demonstrated analytical skills preferred
Competency with Microsoft Office suite of products and e-mail. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills
required to work with parents and students on financial matters. Capable of safeguarding confidential information. Candidates for this position must be bondable. Must be authorized for unrestricted employment in the United States indefinitely with no immigration
sponsorship needed.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with minimum lifting
(25 pounds) required. Flexible office hours to include evenings and weekends.
