Bethlehem Central is a high-performing suburban district that encourages excellence in its students and exhibits excellence in its faculty and administration. Assistant Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds Civil Service Reachable or Jurisdictional Transfer Appointment Start Date: June 6, 2022.
The Bethlehem Central School District serves approximately 4,600 students kindergarten through grade 12. There are 9 buildings and approximately 1 million square feet in the district. Administrative position assisting the Director of Facilities with all aspects of facilities management and capital construction for the district. Supervision is exercised over all 60 custodial, maintenance and health & safety personnel in the Operations & Maintenance Department.
Duties include but not limited to: Directing and managing day-to-day operations, oversight of departmental budget, procurement/bidding, planning long and short term projects and implementing numerous operational programs. Minimum experience; High School graduate and three (3) years’ experience in large scale building maintenance activities including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity. Preferred candidates will have specific experience with the duties noted above. Must possess a valid drivers’ license. Salary $80-85,000 commensurate with experience. Candidate may be hired provisionally and will be required to subsequently pass the Civil Service exam and be reachable.
