Position Available: Elections Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant to the Clerk
Now accepting applications with resume and cover letter for a full-time Elections Coordinator/Administrative Assistant to the Clerk. Coordinates all phase of the election process, performs a variety of administrative functions such as correspondence for, overseeing, and implementing execution of decisions by the Board of Trustees meetings. Provides administrative support to the Township Clerk and other employees of the Clerk’s office. Qualifications include knowledge acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, along with additional college coursework in business or public administration; four to six years of progressively more responsible secretarial experience. Municipal government experience preferred. Michigan State Certification in the Administration of Elections is required within six months. Leadership skills necessary to coordinate, provide leadership and review the work of assigned election workers, computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, publishing, website and database applications, proficient typing and word processing skills, interpersonal skills to interact with public, attorneys, Township personnel, mental ability to handle pressures related to meeting deadlines and multi-tasking on projects. Ability to work beyond eight (8) hours per day, as necessary, during elections.
This is a Technical Unit Level 6 union position, full-time, $21.00-27.30 per hour, full benefits. Approved applicant must pass a complete physical and drug screening along with background check. Position open until filled.
