High School STEAM Teacher
The Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy is seeking a High School STEAM Teacher to join its team of education professionals.
Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy is a single gender, small learning community for girls in grades 6-12. The college preparation curriculum is centered on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). CGLA offers girls an accelerated and integrated remediation approach that is intended to move them to proficient and advanced levels within core academic subjects. A range of social supports that reflects girls’ social development needs are integrated into the educational experience.

Job Overview:
This is an on-site, full-time, teaching position at CGLA 1802 Bailey Avenue in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Primary role is teaching Mathematics to the school’s student community, in accordance with this position’s job duties, school mission and educational goals. Some travel is required.
Salary and Benefits:
Compensation is competitive, commensurate with credentials and experience, and includes comprehensive benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and TCRS). Teachers receive funds for supplies and materials, as well as a laptop computer.

Responsibilities of a CGLA High School Teacher include, but are not limited to:
Curriculum Development and Instruction
Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum and assess students’ progress
Develop academically rigorous lessons, create unit plans, rubrics and assessments
Use data to inform instructional decisions
Provide students with daily feedback on mastery performance in character and academics and plan for individual learning needs
Demonstrate strong pedagogy.
Commitment to School and Classroom Culture:
Work collaboratively with your grade level team
Help develop school-wide culture that best fits the needs of our students, teachers and families
Attend and participate in all faculty, personal development, and team meetings
Communicate openly with faculty/staff
Develop positive rapport with students
Create and foster a positive and calm learning environment
Enforce, uphold, and exhibit school’s values, student management policies and culture.
Family Engagement:
Establish and maintain strong communication lines with all parents and share progress
Be available for open houses, parent teacher conferences and other events involving parents
Make him/herself available to students, parents, and other faculty/staff members.

Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsement(s)

Bachelor’s degree
