English as a Second Language (ESL) & High School Equivalent (HSE) Faculty Colorado Mountain College Breckenridge & Dillon, CO Full time faculty positions begin in August 2022 with a 30 credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually. The successful candidate focuses on all levels of English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, retention and persistence of ESL students, compliance with Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) and Adult Education and Literacy Act (AELA) grants and grant requirements, and development of career pathway courses based on local workforce needs, which feed into Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs such as hospitality, tourism, health, and information technology. This position may include teaching at night, weekend, online, and multiple campus locations. Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teaching course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities. CMC Faculty are expected to engage in service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention. Salary range: $67,656.77 - $82,405.89 depending upon education and experience. For more information on our benefits, please see here. Requirements: Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include: Master’s Degree in TESOL, Linguistics, English, Adult Education, Developmental Education, Education, or other degree with 18 graduate credits in TESOL required. Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) required, or willingness to obtain within three years. Minimum of one-year, full-time teaching experience or the equivalent as an adjunct faculty member. Higher education teaching experience and knowledge of a language other than English required. Experience needed in a variety of teaching delivery modes including online. Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility and collegiality are essential. Course delivery may include a mix of live in-person/livestream, hybrid asynchronous/synchronous, and with the use of video-conferenced software modalities available to students throughout the College district.
