About the Position
Community School of Digital and Visual Arts expects the classroom teacher to lead
classroom instruction. This position requires an excitement for teaching and a genuine
love for students.
Primary Responsibilities
Create a positive, achievement-oriented, structured learning environment that
engage students.
Daily use of digital learning tools and resources to create and implement
engaging instructional lessons designed to meet the varied instructional levels of
students
Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues and keep
evidence of communication
Create a safe, caring, and nurturing environment through the use of effective
classroom management skills.
Use assessment data to continuously adjust instruction and plan for targeted
intervention
Set yearly professional development goals and attend required trainings to meet
those goals
Participate in regular administration, mentors, and peers classroom instructional
walk-throughs and observations for instructional
Positively collaborate with peers’ school wide
Design and implement rigorous unit and lesson plans and class materials for
grade level or subject
Understanding of remote teaching and/or a willingness to learn remote teaching
Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade level activities, and
attend school-wide functions
Education Background and Work Experience
Experience working with appropriate age group of students teaching
Eagerness for and openness to challenging, relevant feedback from instructional
coaching and other administrative staff
Mastery of and enthusiasm for academic subjects
Experience with technology based programs and apps
Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player
Job Type: Full-time
Required education (Minimum)
Bachelor's in Elementary Education or
Bachelor’s in Subject Area for Middle School
Or enrolled in NC Residency Licensure Program through an accredited college or
university.
Required license or certification:
State of North Carolina teaching license or Accepted Reciprocity - State in NC
NC Residency Licensure Program (or enrolled)
