Personnel Manager (Human Resources)
Des Moines Public Schools is Iowa's largest provider of K-12 education and one of the metro area's largest employers. DMPS is looking for a Personnel Manager to work in the office of Talent and Personnel.
Job Summary:
Collaborate with school and department administrators/supervisors to develop, implement and monitor performance of staff and school environments that ensure equitable outcomes for students. Lead efforts in staff performance through aligned processes, procedures and training. Provides leadership for all aspects of human resources for classified and certified staff as well as compliance of district policies and procedures. Adhere to the Iowa Standards for School Leaders (ISSL).
Required Hiring Specifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
Five (5) years previous supervisory experience in an educational setting or related field.
Five (5) years experience in employee hiring, evaluation, discipline and grievances in an educational setting or comparable.
Level 1 Investigator certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
Desired Required Hiring Specifications:
Specialist or Master’s Degree in Education Administration or comparable.
Iowa Administrative Licensure with Evaluator Approval
Experience in developing and providing professional development
Salary Range for this position:
$79,373 - $96,034
This represents the minimum to mid-point of the salary range. Candidates offered employment will be compensated based on skills, work experience and education.
