SALARY: $100,000 - $115,000 based on experience

REQUIREMENTS:

 


Valid New York State SDA/SDL or SDBL Certification

Administrative experience in school building or district level leadership and supervision of staff and operations


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee the development of the most efficient transportation scheduling and routing consistent with
student safety;


Oversee the coordinating of hiring, training, assignment and evaluation of all transportation personnel
in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources;


Responsible for the supervision of the Assistant Transportation Supervisor and other transportation office
staff, Manage the coordination of the total transportation program;


Initiate, prepare, and disseminate various administrative and safety bulletins to implement student
transportation policy;


Oversee the development and maintenance of all records of authorized appropriations and the determination
that all sums expended pursuant thereto are properly accounted for and within budget appropriations;


Ensure full compliance with all 19A requirements;


Approves times schedules for buses;


Ensure timely submission of State transportation reports and maintenance of bus routes;


Maintains time records for payroll purposes in coordination with the Human Resources Office and Business
Office;


Ensure maintenance and accuracy of all daily records related to pupil transportation;


Oversees scheduling for all special trips including those for athletic teams and student field trips;


Supervise and evaluate the maintenance of District fleet vehicles in coordination with the Head Mechanic;


Identify efficiencies in staff utilization and operational functions;


Responsible for the evaluation of the administration and supervision of all contract providers relating to
student transportation services;


Motivate and develop staff to meet current and future department needs;


Responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations in regard to student
transportation;


Ensure decisions relating to Department operations are executed within the Board policy;
Perform other duties at the request of the Superintendent of Schools; and


Act as liaison with families and community for all matters relating to student transportation.
