High School Vocal Music Teacher
Candidate Considerations:
- Must demonstrate Strong Vocal skills and Vocal Pedagogy
- Must demonstrate Strong Conducting skills in any meter and style
- Must demonstrate Strong Keyboarding skills: 4-part score reading and accompaniment
Job Responsibilities include:
- Conducting and rehearsing a full year Music Elective: Concert Choir for grades 9-12
- Creating a lesson schedule and teaching homogeneous small group weekly vocal pull-out lessons
- Preparing the Concert Choir for annual school and community concerts: Annual Winter, Christkindl, Pops, and Spring
- Co-curricular Choir Activities: Grade 10-12 Chamber Choir; PMEA District, Region, State Participating Director
- Teaching music skills in half year semester music electives: Music Appreciation; Music in Theater and Film; Music Keyboarding I and II.
- Extra-curricular Activities: Lead Director for the Annual Fall Play and Annual Spring Musical. Includes budget writing, rehearsal planning, and delegation of staff responsibilities.
- Annual budget writing for required music, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensuring that all music and equipment are properly used, maintained, stored, and
that inventory records are accurate and current.
