Minnesota State Community and Technical College, is accepting applications for Full-time Medical Laboratory  Technology Instructor and Program Director to begin fall semester 2022. Campus location is to be determined;  Fergus Falls or Moorhead. This position will become unlimited upon completion of required six semesters of probationary status. 

Activities related to comprehensive community college teaching and learning, including but not limited to: ∙ Instructional planning and delivery; 
∙ Teaching and facilitating student learning; 
∙ Curriculum planning and development; 
∙ Academic advising for MLT students; 
∙ Assessment of student performance at course and departmental level, and contribute to student  assessment at the college general education level; 
∙ Classroom management; 
∙ Maintenance of professional skills and credentials; 
∙ Participation in department meetings, coordination activities, and college-wide committees. ∙ Provide engaging theory, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction to a diverse student body ∙ Create a positive, student-centered, dynamic, structured, equitable and inclusive classroom, laboratory,  and clinical learning environment 
∙ Participate in program and institutional accreditation activities, program review, assessment ∙ Provide leadership and coordination of the Medical Laboratory Technician program as per National  Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science requirements (NAACLS).  
∙ Responsible for the organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, collaboration with other program faculty/staff,  and general effectiveness of the program.  
∙ Maintain professional status and active involvement as requirement for NAACLS program directorship.  ∙ Complete requirements for continued program accreditation through NAACLS.  

Minimum Qualifications: 
Education Requirement: 

∙ Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or medical/clinical laboratory science. 
Occupational Experience Requirement: 
∙ Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a medical laboratory technologist/scientist. 
Recency Requirement: 
∙ One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two  years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field  within the last five years 

Professional Requirement: 
∙ Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist certification by one of the following: American Society for  Clinical Pathology (ASCP), AAB Board of Registry (ABOR), or American Medical Technologists (AMT). 
Preferred Qualifications:  
∙ Master’s or doctoral degree; 
∙ ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist; ∙ Three years of teaching experience; 
∙ Knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation  procedures and certification procedures; 
∙ Experience as a MLT instructor in an academic setting; 
∙ Leadership related to student success, retention and persistence; 
∙ Experience mentoring students; 
∙ Experience collaborating across departments or programs; 
∙ Demonstrated familiarity with and commitment to the mission and constituencies of a comprehensive  community and technical college; 
∙ Experience with learning communities or team teaching; 
∙ Experience in curriculum development; 
∙ Experienced in integrating cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction; ∙ Experience teaching a diverse student population; 
∙ Service on local, regional, national committees; 
∙ Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills; 
∙ Knowledge of active learning strategies.
