Oneonta City School District has the following vacancy for the 2024-25 school year: Biology Teacher Qualified candidates will have a valid NYS Certification in Biology. We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Biology Teacher to join our science department. The teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging biology lessons that align with curriculum standards and ignite students' curiosity about the natural world. Key responsibilities include planning and conducting laboratory experiments, assessing student understanding through exams and assignments, and providing feedback to support academic growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in biological sciences, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make complex concepts accessible and exciting for students. Responsibilities also include managing the classroom environment, fostering critical thinking, and encouraging students' interest in scientific inquiry. A bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field, along with a valid teaching certification, is required. Previous teaching experience, particularly in a high school setting, is preferred.
